Chardonnay, Nielson Vineyard
2005 Chardonnay, Nielson Vineyard
$25.00 - Purchase Online today or call (805) 934-4770

Tasting Notes:
The 2005 Chardonnay displays vivid aromas of mandarin orange, lime zest, and orange blossom, accented by hints of clove and brown sugar. The f lavor profile is very creamy and rich with hints of fig, citrus, and mineral and a touch of oak. A luxurious mid-palate gives way to a lingering finish.

Winemaker Notes:
Byron Chardonnay Nielson Vineyard is handcrafted using the gentlest winemaking techniques possible in our multi-level, gravity-f low winery. The wine was 100% barrel fermented with 100% malolactic fermentation. During this time, the barrels were hand-stirred once a week to enhance texture, complexity, and longevity.

Vineyard Profile:
Fruit for this estate-grown wine comes from the heart of the original Nielson Vineyard, Santa Barbara County's oldest commercial vineyard, planted in 1964. These vines, most of which are planted to the acclaimed Wente clone of Chardonnay, consistently produce low yields of small, intensely flavored berries. The lean, low-vigor soils and cool, coastal climate of the Nielson Vineyard make it ideal for growing world-class Chardonnay. Our Master Vineyard Team, a small highly experienced team of vineyard managers and workers, practices one of the most rigorous vineyard management programs in the industry to ensure the utmost quality of our fruit.
