Byron's history is inextricably woven into the fabric of Santa Barbara County. Our estate vineyard is the site of the region's first commercial vineyard, planted in 1964 by Uriel Nielson. For the past two decades our trials and experiments on clones, rootstocks and trellising have helped establish cool-climate farming protocols throughout California's coastal winegrowing regions. Today, we produce renowned Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays from our estate and other marquee vineyards in Santa Barbara County.
